ПОСDISCUSSION WITH STUDENTS HELD ON CRIME PREVENTION ISSUES

South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov hosted a meeting about it “Crime Prevention.” The event brought together students, faculty members, as well as representatives and veterans of law enforcement agencies. The meeting was organized by the city prosecutor’s office, the department of internal policy and youth affairs, and the City Youth Center. This initiative was carried out as part of a directive from the Prosecutor General’s Office of Kazakhstan aimed at enhancing legal literacy among the population.
Kurmangali Sarykulov, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at the university, emphasized the importance of such meetings for young people. Abdiraman Akkulov, an honored employee of the prosecutor’s office, shared judicial case studies and stressed the importance of avoiding negative influences and making wise life choices.
Kaiysar Kaldabayev, Senior Assistant to the Prosecutor of Shymkent, spoke about issues related to the increase in youth crime. He specifically highlighted the sale of drugs through social media and shared cases of young people who found themselves in serious trouble after falling victim to deception. To illustrate the points discussed, a thematic video was shown to the participants.
Particular attention was drawn to the speech of Birzhan Zhakypuly, a renowned boxer and honored master of sports in Kazakhstan. He encouraged the youth to have a healthy lifestyle and abstain from harmful habits.
At the end of the meeting, students actively discussed the issue of crime, asked questions, and shared their thoughts.
