Today, informative and explanatory activities were held at the M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University regarding the educational grants provided through the "SERPIN" Scholarship Program of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. As part of the "Higher Education Fair-2024," 23 universities participating in the "SERPIN" program from the eastern, western, northern, and central regions of our country introduced their opportunities to the students. A significant number of graduating students from schools in Turkestan region and Shymkent city attended the fair.
During the fair, Ruslan Emelbayev, the Advisor to the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Kairat Nurmanbetov, Acting chairman on the board-Rector of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University, delivered speeches emphasizing the significance of the government program.
-Currently, in our country, the most popular and in-demand fields among applicants are engineering, pedagogy, and IT. Within this context, the "SERPIN" program has allocated 3,903 grants by the Ministry of Education and Science this year. Of these, 65 percent, which amounts to 2,513 grants, have been allocated to the pedagogical field. This is a significant support provided by the government. Additionally, in accordance with the directive of our President, branch campuses of foreign universities have been established in regional higher education institutions. These international campuses offer excellent opportunities for those seeking higher education abroad. Now, Kazakhstan students can receive a high-quality education in leading international universities without leaving the country. Among these initiatives, representatives of Heriot-Watt University at the base of Aktobe University named after K. Zhubanov and Arizona University at the base of North Kazakhstan University named after M. Kozibaev are participating," said Advisor of Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ruslan Toktarbekuly.
