The First Step into University Life: M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University Welcomes New Students
On 1 September 2026, the Faculty of History and Pedagogy and the Faculty of Agriculture of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University jointly held a ceremony marking the Day of Knowledge and welcoming the first-year students admitted for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The festively decorated square in front of Academic Building No. 9 was lined on both sides by the new students and their group mentors, with the heads of departments and the teaching staff seated at the centre. The ceremony was opened by the deans of the two faculties, G. R. Tastanbekova and K. M. Urazbayev, who addressed words of welcome and congratulation to the newly enrolled students and to the wider student body.
The programme was hosted by the student council, which introduced the heads of the departments to those present. Together with the newly admitted students, the activists performed songs and dances, giving the occasion a festive character.
At the close of the ceremony, the first-year students took their first steps along a red carpet laid out for the occasion and entered the university through its open doors. They took their places in the assigned lecture rooms, met the faculty leadership and the teaching staff of the departments, and received their first briefing on academic requirements and faculty life.
The celebrations continued in the evening at the Sports Palace, where the new students were invited to a concert featuring well-known performers, held to mark the beginning of their student life.
