Summer School "Smart Learning" Held at the Faculty of Philology of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University
From June 9 to 20, 2025, the Faculty of Philology at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University hosted a Summer School on the topic “Smart Learning: Enhancing Competence in Foreign Language Teaching through Linguodidactics and Digital Tools.” The event was organized by the Head of the Department of Modern Languages and Translation Studies, G. K. Karbozova, and the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages for Humanities, A. A. Suyuberdieva. The moderators of the Summer School were lecturers Saule Abdykaiym and Guldana Bayymbetova.
The training took place online via the Zoom platform and included lectures, webinars, workshops, and practical sessions aimed at mastering modern digital tools and teaching methods for foreign languages.
More than 200 participants took part in the Summer School, including university professors, school teachers, undergraduate students, master’s students, and doctoral candidates. Among the speakers were leading national and international scholars and educators from Kazakhstan, Russia, the USA, the UK, China, France, and Germany.
The program covered the teaching of English, French, German, Chinese, Russian, and Kazakh languages. Upon completion, all participants received certificates, and those who completed the modular program were awarded 3 academic credits. The Summer School became a significant platform for professional development, experience exchange, and the implementation of modern linguodidactic approaches in education.
