Round Table on the Topic “The Institution of the Presidency in Kazakhstan: New Factors of Constitutional Progress”
A round table titled “The Institution of the Presidency in Kazakhstan: New Factors of Constitutional Progress” was held at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University.
The event was attended by the Head of the Department of History of Kazakhstan of the Faculty of History and Pedagogy, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor S.M. Junusbayev, as well as faculty members, experts, young scholars, and students.
The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the features of the development of the presidential system in Kazakhstan and to comprehensively explain the content of constitutional reforms and their significance in public life.
During the event, the Head of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, Doctor of Law, Professor Aisana Smankyzy, focused on the impact of constitutional reforms on the country’s development, highlighting their role in strengthening the rule of law.
In addition, Associate Professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Historical Sciences Sarsebay Karibayev, provided a historical analysis of the stages of formation of the Constitution of Kazakhstan, comparing previous versions with the proposed new draft and explaining its distinctive features. In his speech, the speaker paid special attention to the status of the state language and the protection of human values.
In turn, Associate Professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Historical Sciences Utkur Aliyev, noted that the new draft of the Constitution clearly reflects the place and importance of the institution of the family in society, emphasizing the role of these values in the upbringing of the younger generation.
During the round table, participants exchanged views and shared their opinions and conclusions regarding the prospects of the country’s constitutional development and the future of legal reforms.
