THE LEGACY OF HISTORICAL FIGURES – IN THE MEMORY OF THE NATION
On April 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., a scientific-practical conference titled “The Historical Lessons of Studying Prominent Figures” was held at the Palace of Schoolchildren in Shymkent, organized by the Methodological Center of the Department of Education of Shymkent city, in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day.
The conference was attended by Associate Professor of the “History of Kazakhstan” Department at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan Research University, Candidate of Historical Sciences Zhomart Tokmyrzayuly Zholdybayev, who delivered a plenary report on the topic “The History of Victory Will Not Be Forgotten.”
During the event, new information was presented about the lives of war veterans and the consequences of the war, and the fallen heroes were honored with a moment of silence.
The goal of the gathering was to deepen the younger generation’s understanding of history and to instill respect for heroism and patriotism. Within the framework of the 80th anniversary of Victory, the conference widely promoted the scientific-practical and educational significance of research based on authentic historical records about the heroism of Kazakhstani soldiers on the battlefield and the difficult years experienced by the nation.
According to historical data, more than 140,000 citizens from the southern region were sent to the front, making a substantial contribution to the Victory. Their heroic deeds remain forever in the memory of the nation.
