On the 13th of February, 2026, the Atameken Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Turkestan Region hosted an information and practical seminar on the introduction of modern geosynthetic technologies. The event was attended by Dean of the Agrarian Faculty, Associate Professor Gulnara Tastanbekova, Head of the Department of Crop Production and Animal Husbandry, Candidate of Biological Sciences, docent Asset Zhylkibaev and Senior Lecturer of the Department, docent Zhenisbek Abdraimov.
The seminar was organized jointly with a major international manufacturer - Taian Nuolian Engineering Materials Co., Ltd. Representatives of the company presented a line of geosynthetic and roofing materials, which are widely used not only in industrial construction, but also in the modernization of agro-industrial complex (AIC) facilities.
The participation of leading scientists of the faculty in the seminar is due to the growing demand for innovative solutions in agriculture. Geosynthetics from Taian Nuolian can be effectively used for: waterproofing reservoirs and irrigation canals (geomembranes); arrangement of roofs of modern livestock complexes and warehouses; protecting soils from erosion and strengthening the foundations during the construction of greenhouses.
During the meeting, the dean of the faculty and the head of the department discussed with representatives of the company and experts of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs the possibility of introducing these materials into the educational process and research activities of the faculty.
«The study of such high-tech materials allows us to update curricula and give students knowledge about the most advanced tools that are being introduced into the production of the Turkestan region today», the dean said.
As a result of the seminar, ways of interaction on the exchange of technical information and the possible organization of practical platforms for training students to work with new materials were outlined.
