Open classes organized for the purpose of conducting an external quality assessment

On April 28, 2026, open classes and expert meetings were organized at the Department of Information and Communication Technologies of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University in order to conduct an external quality assessment of the educational program 6B06141 – “Modeling and Creation of Virtual Reality.” The main purpose of the event was to confirm the program’s compliance with international and national educational standards.An open class on the topic “Algorithmization and Programming,” conducted under the guidance of senior lecturer S.S. Mombekova, was presented to the accreditation commission. During the lesson, the integration of modern pedagogical technologies and digital tools was demonstrated. The students’ level of practical implementation of theoretical knowledge was assessed through specialized software and other digital platforms.
The relevance of the specialty is supported by the use of high-tech equipment in the educational process. Students and faculty members demonstrated effective skills in using the following tools:
• VR technologies: management of three-dimensional models using virtual reality headsets (VR helmets) and controllers.
• Interactive environment: integration of engineering and creative disciplines with information technologies based on STEM education principles (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math).
• Huawei ICT Academy: utilization of the capabilities of internationally recognized laboratories operating at the university.
Members of the accreditation commission highly appreciated the equipment of the classrooms, the professional competence of the teaching staff, and the students’ project work. Topics discussed included digital space modeling, as well as the integration of neural networks and generative artificial intelligence into the curriculum (for example, the Generative Extend features in Adobe Premiere Pro).Based on the results of the conducted activities, the educational program 6B06141 – “Modeling and Creation of Virtual Reality” demonstrated its innovative nature, comprehensive technical infrastructure, and compliance with labor market demands. Successfully passing the accreditation represents an important step in strengthening the university’s high competitiveness in the field of information technology.
