Development of domestic poultry industry: a meeting with leading industry experts was held at the Agrarian Faculty

A significant working meeting was held at the Agrarian Faculty on topical issues and prospects for the development of poultry farming in Kazakhstan. The discussion was attended by the dean of the faculty, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tastanbekova Gulnara Rakhimberdyevna, who also acts as the scientific secretary of the Shymkent branch of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences, and a prominent scientist in the field of animal husbandry, professor of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University Alpeisov Shokan Ashenovich.
The focus of experts was the strategic tasks of the industry for 2026, including the achievement of full self-sufficiency of the country with poultry meat and egg, as well as the introduction of innovations in industrial poultry farming.
Professor Shokan Alpeisov, who has extensive experience in managing research institutes for poultry and livestock, shared his vision of modern challenges:
- Deep product processing: the need to create goods with high added value.
- Scientific support: the importance of the participation of young scientists of the faculty in the development of new feed rations and biotechnology.
- Regional projects: discussion of plans for the construction of new poultry complexes in the Turkestan region, the launch of which is scheduled for 2026.
Gulnara Rakhimberdyevna noted that both the Shymkent branch of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Agrarian Faculty are aimed at closely integrating academic knowledge into production. Such meetings allow you to adjust the curricula and topics of theses to the real needs of agribusiness.
The meeting resulted in an agreement on further scientific and methodological cooperation, joint consultations for farmers in the region and the involvement of Professor Sh.A. Alpeisov to give guest lectures for students of the faculty.
