From theory to practice: scientists from Turkey and agricultural students visited the gardens of «Dala Fruit»

On the 4th of February, 2026, a delegation of scientists from the Fruit Research Institute (MAEM) of Egirdir-Isparta (Turkey), NCE «Atameken», together with students and teaching staff of the Agrarian Faculty, visited the production sites of one of the leaders of the horticultural sector of the region - Dala Fruit LLP.
The purpose of the visit was to study modern technologies of intensive gardening and storage systems for fruit products. Scientists from Turkey, whose province of Isparta is famous for its apple orchards all over the world, praised the infrastructure of the Kazakh enterprise.
«To see how scientific developments are being introduced into industrial production of this magnitude is invaluable experience for future specialists», said Ismail Demirtash, director of the research institute.
For students of the Agrarian Faculty, the field lesson has turned into a full-fledged master class. During a tour of the Dala Fruit gardens, participants discussed: drip irrigation and fertigation systems; methods of protecting gardens from pests and climate risks, as well as methods for cutting down and forming trees; operation of modern fruit storages with a controlled gas environment, which allow you to keep the harvest fresh until the next season.
Dala Fruit specialists shared practical cases with the guests, and scientists from Egirdir Omer Faruk Karamersel, Melih Aydynly and Murat Yeshylyrmak offered their recommendations for improving the varietal composition and increasing yields. This format «University - Science – Business» allows the university to train personnel that are maximally adapted to the requirements of the modern agro-industrial complex market.
