 On March 25, 2026, the regional university AI hackathon “AI for Kazakhstan: Industry 5.0 Solutions” was held in the city of Shymkent as part of “Digital Qazaqstan 2026”.Students of the educational program “Virtual Reality Modeling and Development” from the Department of Information and Communication Technologies of the Higher School of Computer Engineering and Energy at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University participated in the project. As a result, the team won 2nd place and received a cash prize of 200,000 tenge.The organization of the regional university AI hackathon within the framework of “Digital Qazaqstan 2026” was aimed at:

• supporting youth technological initiatives;
• developing practical skills in applying AI in priority sectors;
• integrating universities into the national digital agenda;
• identifying and supporting promising startup projects.
