On December 3, 2025, an open educational session on the topic “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Waste Management” was organized by Senior Lecturer of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies, D.A. Bibulova, and Lecturer S.S. Karzhaubekova.
The purpose of the session was to foster ecological awareness among students, introduce modern methods of household waste management, and demonstrate the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of ecology.

Automated waste sorting systems using artificial intelligence

During the open session, students participated in both group and individual tasks, completing project assignments on the topic “Reducing Waste and Efficiently Organizing Recycling”. Their proposals were discussed through interactive debates, and students applied AI technologies to suggest creative solutions contributing to ecological sustainability.
The session helped increase students’ ecological literacy and demonstrated the practical role of artificial intelligence in waste management. Students recognized their personal responsibility and expressed readiness to participate in solving environmental issues in the future.
