General Information about the Department of Physics

The Department of Physics was established in 1958 as part of the Kazakh Chemical-Technological Institute (KazChTI). In 2006, within the framework of structural reforms, the department was renamed the Department of Theory and Methods of Teaching Physics and became part of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University. Since 2017, the department has been operating under its current name, Department of Physics, and is a part of the Higher School of Natural Sciences and Pedagogy.

Educational Programs

Since 2004, the department has been training bachelor’s degree students in the following areas:

050110 – Physics (pedagogical track);
050604 – Physics (scientific track).

Since 2009, the educational process has been conducted under the following programs:

5B060400 – Physics (scientific track).

Starting from the 2018 academic year, specialists have been trained under the following educational programs:

6B01521 – Mathematics–Physics;
6B01522 – Physics–Informatics.

Since 2020:
